From Frankfurt Airport
The international airport Frankfurt Rhein-Main is located 25 km (15.5 miles) from Darmstadt. At the airport, regional bus lines depart from arrivals area B at Terminal 1 and arrivals areas D+E at Terminal 2. We recommend the express bus AirLiner (Terminals 1 and 2), which offers a convenient and fast 30-minute connection from the airport to Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof (main station), Luisenplatz and darmstadtium Congress Centre.
From the bus stop at the Frankfurt Airport:
It only takes 30 min to get from the airport to Darmstadt. Just take the yellow shuttle bus , called "Airliner", which you can find at Terminal 1 and 2. Please exit at the stop "Luisenplatz". Then take the Bus F/U , direction: "Oberwaldhaus", exit: stop " Fasanerie".
ICE, IC and EC trains stop at Darmstadt Station, which means it is very well connected with the German long-distance railway network. There are regional connections (RE and RB trains) with Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Aschaffenburg, Mannheim and Heidelberg as well as Erbach and Eberbach.
From the bus terminal at the central railway station Darmstadt, the bus stop at Rhein-/Neckarstraße or the bus stop Luisenplatz in Darmstadt :
Take the bus F/U, direction: "Oberwaldhaus", exit: stop "Fasanerie".
You can reach Darmstadt from motorways A5 (from Frankfurt/M. – Heidelberg/Basel) and A67 (from Cologne/Wiesbaden – Mannheim). From motorway junction 'Autobahnkreuz Darmstadt', follow the signs towards the city centre Darmstadt/Stadtmitte on Rheinstraße/B26 into the City-Ring-Tunnel.
In the tunnel, take the exit left, then at the end of Hügelstraße, bear left at the traffic light onto Kirchstraße. At the second traffic light bear onto Alexanderstraße, which turns into Dieburger Straße later. The Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus is in the Dieburger Straße 241 right handed.
Parking slots are very limited. We recommend that you travel sustainable with public transport.
